I am good at many things!

At home I am good at gardening!

And I can plant fruit. I can water it . I can also plant healthy plant.

At the field I am good at basketball!

The wonky donkey

One awful day I saw a donkey with one eye.
It has one eye because a silly old hunter poked its eye with a sharp nail.

So, I  took my phone and called a vet. They took the donkey and went back to the vets clinic.
They put a new eye in the wonky donkeys eye.

After that  the donkey jumped up and down. I ended up tired, so I went home.
The next day I saw the donkey again and it followed me so I took him where the horse lived to keep him safe from the hunter.
On the third day I got up and went to  outside to  feed the donkey.
I saw the donkey ran back to its mum and dad. I went back home and lay on my bed.

Instructions 

1.Fold the paper from the  short  end to the long end to form the tringle.

2.Fold the extra , end to the back  to make a square.

3.Cut  the extra end.

4. open the square and fold it in half , and fold it again to make quarter and open it.

5.trace a circle on to the square ,and measure it 1Cm on each 4 side.

6.number and initial each quarter.

        7.cut the circle into quarter.

8.draw in each quarter.

9.trace your drawing with pastel.

10.colour the back round.

Oh no! The alien caught  me in my space ship!

The six tall aliens took me to their  king.

Then they told me to take them to earth .  Then I said only if you let go.

They said no!

And then they told me again to only if you take us to earth.

Then I tell lies oh no! no! you shall  not go on earth because the humans are going to shoot you.

So I ask them can I go on their alien ship? they said yes!

Finally I laugh and went back to earth.

Today I have been discussing what to do in an earthquake. The safest option are to Drop,cover and hold. In class Miss paton took photographs of me holding on the door frame.

I should live on the moon because there might be some living things in it.
I think that I should live in the moon because there are no noise and it is peaceful there.

I think people should live in the moon because it has no gravity and it is fun if we can jump high.
We should stay on the moon, so we can learn if there are plants on the moon.

Most important thing  people should live on the moon because there are no cars, buildings and it is quiet.

I really think that I should be allowed to do homework because it teach us important things like reading.

Children should be allowed to bring homework because it will make our brain smart.
Children should really do their homework because if they don't do their homework they will not know anything about
RE , that teaches us about God .

I think that children should not be given homework because at home they had lots of housework.
 I think children should not be allowed to do there homework 
because they want to be with their friend.
Most important thing children should do there homework because it will teach them how to write story.

Ice cream

I think children should allowed to eat Ice cream because it has vitamins and it  makes us strong.

Children are allowed to eat Ice cream because it has banana  fruits, and milk in it and milk makes our body strong and it will make our bones.
Ice cream are good for children because it has different flavour and some of the flavour has lots of vitamin and makes you healthy.

Strawberry Ice cream are the best Ice cream because it is mixed with fruit and they are good for me. Chocolate Ice cream has to much sugar in it and it will make me fat.
Most important thing children should not allowed to eat Ice cream because it has cookies in it and it is not good for us because it will make our teeth rotten.

Children should be allowed to eat chocolate when ever they wanted too.

I really think that a friend could be better  if they stop gossiping because they might tell something bad.

A friend should be better if they stop bullying other person because another person will bully them back.

A friend could be better if they stop fighting with other person because it might end up with a big problem.

I like a friend that is always happy and play with me because if you don't have a friend you will be sad. 

Most important thing a friend could be better is, if he could be my best friend forever.

I really think that adults could be better if they stop fighting with one another. Adults should not smoke and drink alcohol because they might give it to children.

Adults should listen to little kids because they might tell importand things. Adults should not fight with one another because their children might follow when they are older.

Most importand thing adults should not smack there children because there  children will get hurt or might get sick.

Sharing my thinking tools

Today I was given a problem that I needed to answer using my own strategy. The problem was 6 rows of 10 apples. I know the answer is 60. I know because I counted in tens: 10, 20 , 30 , 40 , 50 , 60.
another way was: 30 + 30  = 60, another way is 6 x 10 = 60.

Subtraction in Ten

This morning I have used the Google draw to do my subtraction from ten. I used ten smiley faces they were . My background colour is light brown. I also used word art to do my title.

We had Tesa came into our class  room, and she taught us about saving money. First she gave us some activity an asked us how do we save the money.  Justice put up her hand and said you have to save it in a bank.
Then she told us to get a partner and talk about travelling around the world. My partner was Lupe I said I want to travel to Samoa. 

Later she told us to stop. Next she gave us a question  it  was to swipe the card in the machine .
Finally she gave us the ASB Lomeband , it was a awesome.

My grouping within Ten

This is my grouping within ten. Today I have been learning to use the shape tool and paint bucket to show my grouping within ten. My grouping within ten was 3 + 7 = 10. I used the diamond shape tool to do this.

Last day playing Badminton

Last Friday was the last day playing badminton.First coach Ben chose tagger, it was me and Punipuao . We had to try to tagged lots of people. 

After that we ran to the end of the hall and back. I had a racket to practise hitting the shuttle. I hit it very hard and the shuttle went up the window and got stuck. 

Then we in a group of  six. We used the net to have a contest with the other person. I hit the shuttle hard to the other side but he did not hit it back so I earn a point.

Finally coach Ben told us to put the racket back. We said thank you to  coach Ben for teaching us how to play badminton. Later we went back to class and do some work.
I had a great time playing badminton?

The Badminton

Yes! It's time to play badminton!

Last Friday we went to play badminton. First we sat down on the  floor and listened to coach Ben . Then we had a warm up.It was so fun and cool. I jogged to the wall and back, Then I ran sideways. 

After that coach Ben told the girls and boys to get the rackets. Coach Ben taught us how  to hold the racket. He told us to watch for the people next to us because I might hit some one's eye. Next, we get the shuttle  and hit it softly because it might break the windows and the light. It was cool.

Finally we said thank you to coach Ben for teaching us how to play badminton then we went back to class and do some work. I had a great time.

Last Saturday, my dog was in a very big trouble.
My dog's feet got stuck in a hole of the fence.
I was scared that my dog will get hurt.


My mum rang the fire fighters to come and help my dog.
The fire fighters were worried because the fence is next to the motorway and the dog might run to the road and will be hit by cars.
They got an axe to break the fence so my dog will be free.
The fire fighters did a good job and they gave me my dog back. He was saved! I said thank you to them for saving my dog.

                                    Today I used the Google drawing to create a repeating pattern using triangle shape.I learn how to turn the shape up side down.I use black for my background. I also  used the colour green, and yellow for my triangle colour.

                                  Today I used Google draw to draw my three shapes pattern.I used arrow, oval ,and corner rectangle.I used black for my background and I used yellow,light blue , and red to colour my shapes.

 Today I have been making repeating pattern.  And I have been working how to put my Google drawing on the  blog. . I used the same shape  and  two different colours, they were green and red.

Countries that took part in world war 1

These are the countries that took part in world war 1. world war 1 started in 1914 and ended in 1918.New Zealand represented the Allied troops.

ANZAC day!

Last Friday was the celebration for those people that died for our country.

First we sat down on the grass and wait for Miss Bullot to come and start the prayer for the ANZAC day assembly. After that, the teacher gave out the crosses for some of the children to stick on the ground for remembrance of the soldiers.

Than we prayed for the ANZAC soldiers that died in the war. Than we sang the national anthem. Then they put poppies at the front of the cross.
New Zealand and Australia travelled to Gallipoli and had the biggest war.

The New Zealand soldiers were digging a tunnel to leave the battle field. In world war 1, there were lots of soldiers who risk their lives for our country and people. Finally we finish our prayer for ANZAC day.

One of the year 8 students rang the bell and we all went in the line to walk home.

Learning intention: write a recount.

My Mum is the best

My Mum is loving and protective  because she holds my hand when we cross the road. My Mum gaves me a kiss and a hug when I go  to school and bed-time. 

She also gaves me a kiss when I do the right choice.  My Mum is kind . because she lets me go with  my cousins to the birthday party. She is beautiful when she dances. 

My Mum is awesome because she gave me a cookie. She also helps me to learn how to cook and helps me do school homework.

She also helps me to clean my room. When I get hurt she puts a plaster on my cut and says it's al-right. I love my Mum very much!

St Patricks day

                                                St.Patrick's day
                      Hurray ! It's St. Patrick's day!

Last Tuesday, we went to church for St.Patricks day mass. We sang and prayed to God. After church, we went back to class and had morning tea and ate some food. 

Then the bell rang and we went outside Rooms 5 and 4. Ms. Bullot called out the names of the teams . We went to our teams.We went to Miss Craig games and we had to run to the cones . When the  game ended,  Miss Craig  gave us points. Then the year 8 rang the bell for lunch time . We ate pizza and drank some juice.

After lunch , we went back to class and sat down on the mat . Mrs.Twomey gave us some activities to do. When we finished our activity we went back down to the mat. Finally the home bell rang, we prayed before we went home. I had a good day.

Manaiakalani school

Manaiakalani  Schools  welcomed the visitors from Hawaii.

On Wednesday our school went to met the waka  from Hawaii. Firstly we sat down on the grass and waited for the waka. Then we saw the waka coming in to the shore. Next, all   Manaiakalani schools did a haka as the waka come in.


After the haka, we sang the welcome song.Then we sat down again and listened what the visitors wanted to say. Then the visitors sang karakia. Lastly we all went down to hi five the visitors. Finally went back to school on the bus.

Popular pets in Room 5L

 The turtles are the most popular pets Room 5L. They were popular because they have a hard shell
and they have patterns on their back.The least popular pet were birds because they scatter their seeds on the floor and you cannot cuddle a bird. Only nine students chose birds as their favourite pets.

Playing Tee Golf!

Have you played Tee Golf before? First we had a warm up. Next I started to play tee golf. I learnt how to do left foot, right foot, piggy pop swing.

Next I swung the golf ball as far as I can. Then I put the golf club on my shoulder for three seconds.
After that I gave the golf club to the next person.

Coach Stu asked us what the two golden rules were and I said "Be safe and have fun". Coach stu also asked us what we had learnt.

I said I learnt how to hold a golf club and how to swing the golf club. I also learnt some social skill.

Lastly we shook hands with coach and said "Good game!"

Forces in motion

This term I have been learning about forces. we did this experiment on how far a car travels when it is on a slope. that if we used two books the car would travels a 100cm.
